The first M10 Bookers are headed to the Army’s main crisis response division, the 82nd Airborne Division. The 82nd’s new Booker Combat Vehicles will go to 3rd Battalion, 73rd Cavalry Regiment. The battalion will likely be reflagged as the division’s traditional armor unit, 3rd Battalion, 73rd Armor—a reflection of a change in the unit’s mission from reconnaissance to infantry support. 3-73 Armor has, until recently, operated LAV-25 light armored vehicles on loan from the U.S. Marine Corps as a stopgap measure until something like the M-10 was fielded.
